A brief about the life of Al-shadi/ Saud Al-Harkan

- Born in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia 1961.

- Attend his primary and secondary schools in Riyadh and Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

- Attended several American universities in the early eighties of the the last century and in 1985 graduated with a bachelor degree in general science..

- Traveled widely around the globe and lived for the past sixteen years in the Island of Mauritius, where most literary work was conceived.

- Move back last year to the gulf area to propagate the message of universal bondage and oneness of human destiny..

- Author of thirteen books ( 5 novels,3 epics,1 theater script, 2 essays, 2 photo essays), around the theme of modernity and its relationships with the man's inner world.

* Al-shadi is title given to novices in ancient mystical schools through out the muslim world, which literary means knowledge seeker, and that is how I like to see my work and life.
